Located just a block from Radio City Music Hall and within easy walking distance of Midtown, the Starhotels Collezione Michelangelo stakes a claim to being New York’s only premier Italian hotel. Indeed, few properties can boast its sensibility and flair, blending Old World panache with contemporary style at the corner of Seventh Avenue and 51st Street.

Its 179 flawlessly elegant rooms offer pleasant solace from the busy streets of Manhattan. Fifty-six of these are suites, and each spacious room provides a level of comfort that reflects the classic Italian lifestyle brand.

Executive suites feature king beds, cozy armchairs and spacious Italian marble bathrooms. The lavish studio rooms provide the same degree of comfort in an area that is snug, but still large enough to provide a degree of solitude. Other room types include junior suites, which cater to both business and leisure travellers, and grand one-bedroom suites, shabby chic and fashion-forward in design.

Complimentary amenities include wireless high-speed internet, free phone calls (including international), an onsite 24-hour fitness centre, a daily newspaper and a free shoeshine. For a nominal fee, there is an off-site swimming pool, same-day laundry and 24-hour valet parking.

Adjoining a lobby that wouldn’t be out of place in Rome are a restaurant and bar. Here, piping-hot Neapolitan pizzas can pair with a refined Chianti to finish a perfect day in New York.

The Roman Room is the largest of five meeting venues, with more than 950 square feet of conference space. The Mezzanine is an airy foyer space, accented with Italian marble, highlighted by an eye-catching crystal chandelier. Other gathering points include the Florentine Room, with an art and literature theme; the refined Venetian Room, and the Tuscan Room, each with its own unique style and design.

Besides Radio City, the luxurious Michelangelo is a short hop from Central Park, Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. And it’s only a stone’s throw from Times Square. The hotel exudes the sophisticated character and opulent feel of a bygone era, without surrendering the contemporary features of a luxe boutique inn.
